The Ivan Franko Lviv National University Botanical Garden is one of the oldest gardens in Ukraine and Eastern Europe.
Founded in 1852, it has a long history and an extremely rich collection of plants. Today, the botanical garden is an educational, research and nature conservation institution at a French university. Territorially located on two sites within the city of Lviv (4 Kyryla i Mefodia St. (2 ha); 44 Cheremshiny St. (16.5 ha)).
The Botanical Garden conducts extensive educational activities, which aimed at spreading botanical and ecological knowledge among the population. For this purpose, the Botanical Garden annually holds open days, which residents and guests of the city of Lviv can visit. Employees of the Botanical Garden (by appointment) regularly conduct excursions for schoolchildren and students.
